Content:
- Understanding of the IDDSI diagram and resources.
- How to achieve each IDDSI level safely and testing methods
- Looking at cooking methods for dysphagia cooking, ingredients used and presentation.
- Understanding Taste with texture modified meals.
- Dangers associated with texture modified meals and what to look out for at ward level.
- Choice on menu for texture modified meals.

National Frailty Education Programme - (Targaret Audience - Nurses, CNMs & Managers)
Face-to-Face Training, 9 a.m.—5 p.m., €20 p.p.
8 Modules will be covered: Polypharmacy, Continence, Delirium, Cognition, Falls & Bone Health which will bookended by The Fundamentals of Frailty and Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment respectively.

Residents’ Rights - (Targaret Audience - All Staff)
Face-to-Face Training, 9 a.m.—1 p.m., €20 p.p.
Content:
- Overview of practical application of FREDA (Fairness, respect, equality, dignity, and autonomy) principles with your setting, while incorporating in aspects of new restrictive practice assessment (June 23-HIQA - disability services as a reference), responsive behaviours and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Overview of restrictive practice in relation to national legislation, regulations, policy, and evidence-based practice guidelines (HIQA, 2016, 2023) - Thematic focus - new document Overview and discussion on what is restrictive practice based on 4 main domains of Physical, Environmental, Chemical and Civil/Social Restriction- practical examples of these discussed as per staff and residents’ needs. Rights based approach.
- Outline of restrictive practice as a last resort - what interventions have the staff utilised prior to placing restriction in place. Role of the staff and manager in audit and review as per restrictive practice template.
- Discussion regarding the care plan - viewing a care plan on use of Prn Psychotropic medication use, use of a Bed Rail, if a chair is tilted back more than 30-degree, Locked doors, smoking, refusal of care and areas as per current resident status and assessment.
- Rights-based approach links to - Restrictive procedures should only be used in limited circumstances after other options to keep people safe have been exhausted. This will be collated with linking the four areas that staff put in place/trialled with the team.
- The main focus is relation to Linkage, risk rating, ‘road mapping’ throughout the care plan and creating Person Centred Care support.

Falls Management - (Targaret Audience - Senior Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, CNMs & Managers)
Online Training, 9.30 a.m.—12.30 p.m., €5 p.p.
This programme is aimed at enabling participants screen and assess residents for risk of falling to develop person centred care plans to prevent falls and to respond appropriately when a resident falls in the centre. It includes assessment and care planning for residents at risk of falls as well as post falls assessments and care needs.
1. Identify residents at risk of falling.
2. Identify contributory factors to residents falling.
3. Identify evidence-based approaches to preventing falls.
4. Facilitate person-centred assessment and care planning to meet the needs and preferences of residents at risk of falling.
